So I updated with SIX today to play in the MSO event, it launched perfectly fine before the update, but after the update it now goes through the little checkbox bit, launches to a black screen then crashes to this message. SIX had no errors or reports or anything, updated as usual. Any idea how to fix this or what went wrong during the update so I can actually play the event?

Trying launching arma with a different arma 2 launcher

I had the same issue also THawk, I've managed to fix it. Just.

What I did was first reinstall ACE and all the other goodies, then I also had to mess with my start up shortcut. Something in there wasn't right with the new update, which I suspect was the beta files. In the end now my shortcut lines goes like;

C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe -mod=Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -skipIntro -winxp "-name=Deathstrike" "-mod=@ACEX;@ACEX_RU;@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX_USNavy;@JayArma2Lib;@UOMods;@ACRE;

If I removed the "-mod=Expansion\beta\Expansion" for example the issue returned, and I also had to create a new shortcut to the beta's exe then plaster the ACRE .dll file into there for ACRE to work again.

I can't guarantee it will work for you, but hopefully it points in a better direction.

Sounds like DLL files were missing from expansion/beta folders

I always get this issue after updating Jayarma2lib.

But intead of DX9, it is DX8 and it launches normally after a second try.

Hi guys,

Hope you could help me with this one :

Since today I have the same identical problems as descriped above in the header, accept I have Arma II - C.O. purchased using Steam. So the game isnt' physically on my computer. (could that be a problem..?)

Now, Arma II runs just fine (from the CD..) COD MW 2 (via steam) runs fine, accept Arma II - CO (via steam) does not : Error Creating Dirext3D 9 Graphical Engine.

It has to be noted that today a friend of my parents screwed around with the internet & network system and it has been trouble ever since .. (back ups can;t be done anymore...etc...) pfffff....

Anymore???

If you own ArmA2 and Arrowhead on Steam and have it installed then you have a copy on your hard drive that is identical to the CD Retail version.
Try running both A2 and Arrowhead at least once from Steam, then run Six again and have it create a short cut.

Sorry but what do you guys mean with "the SIx update" .. ? As far as I know yesterday I never run an update... Didn t run it after our network problems started. Really monkeyballs.. I bought this set-up especially to run Arma.
