I just wanted to briefly comment on the state of briefings in UO. Starting out in leadership is very intimidating. Please don't forget this you who are veteran leaders. It has been difficult many mission to get leadership positions filled. I say this because several veteran leaders will make comments on plans without being asked, or from an inappropriate slot. For example, sometimes a veteran/regular will be slotted in a non-leadership role, but will comment on the CO's plan. According to UOTC and SOPs, only those who have been asked should be commenting. I think it would be helpful it we can try to let plans come together regardless of whether or not it is a 'good' plan. This will allow new leaders to gain confidence in leadership and learn from mistakes.
Also, I am just as guilty of this, so don't think I am trying to point fingers. I am not trying to boss anyone around either, but rather just wanted to comment this to the UO leadership and ask for direction in maintaining order during briefings. Thanks for reading.
