New changes to Website and Forum layout. Changes to structure required for future updates to make browsing a bit simpler.
Some content may be missing during the initial changes, as this migration and update is being done realtime. Expect some content to be removed after this update.
Numerous Sub-Categories will be removed, and a TAG system will be opened up for users to tag content that formerly was present only in a subcategory.
Expect these tags to be documented as and after the system is deployed. A list of the valid tags will be present when users create a post, and or in this or other announcements.
EDIT - 2017-02-14 - General Layout Completed - Minimal structure edits to follow.
Posts to be updated with newer tag system then user rights to self tag content, with relevant tags in relevant sections will follow.
So yeah, the layout and structure of the forums has been changed to a new layout.
Comments/input/suggestions are welcome.
The primary concern was to "simplify" categories, and where posts went as well as remove any secondary nested/burried links and subforums.
Many categories have been compressed - General discussion is now for almost everything except for Political Posting and general topic that had been reversed for the Off Topic.
A few categories remain to be compressed and or refocused, such as UOTC/Guides. These will come over the next few months but do not expect the overall structure to change too much.
Old content, such as Arma2 and Steel Beasts has been moved to the Archives section, which is visible for donors (Donor/Regular/Officer). This has been done with regard to performance, and just a general cleanup of presentation.
The redefined "Supported" game section has been done in a layout to support adopting secondary games with a larger focus for the community. What these games may be simply depends on community interest and motivation to support them.
Over the upcoming months we will be updating our fourms software, which has pushed a number of these changes to take place in advance. Some features such as AUTH and AAR will be revised as well as the mission list for ArmA3. These forum changes have been made in a better effort to refresh and clean up the general layout of the fourms and make them "more" usable.
